2025.05.07 NYCU Participated in the Inaugural Ceremony of the Taiwan-Japan Semiconductor and Technology Association
NYCU President LIN Chi-Hung, Professor SAMUKAWA Seiji, Director of TJEO, and Deputy Director Dr. Austin Chen, attended the inaugural ceremony of “Taiwan-Japan Semiconductor and Technology Association” held at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) on May 7, 2025.
The association was established at the initiative of Senior Advisor Frank Hsieh, former Representative to Japan, and brings together numerous companies from the semiconductor industry. NYCU participated as the sole representative from the whole academia among the founding members.
During the ceremony, Director SAMUKAWA delivered a speech, highlighting three key characteristics of Taiwan’s semiconductor sector.
First, he emphasized the innovative and pioneering spirit of Taiwanese researchers and engineers. Second, he noted the strong collaboration between universities and the neighboring science parks. Third, he pointed out the multi-layered and dynamic semiconductor ecosystem in Taiwan. He concluded by expressing his belief that by leveraging the strengths of both Taiwan and Japan, research and innovation in the semiconductor field could be further accelerated.
TJEO will continue actively foster collaboration between academia and industry in the semiconductor sector, aiming to promote co-creation and mutual prosperity.

2025.05.07台日半導体技術促進会の発足式に参加しました
NYCUの林奇宏学長、台日交流推進室の寒川主任、陳治維副主任らが台北国際会議センター（TICC）で開催された「台日半導体技術促進会」の発足式に参加しました。
「台日半導体技術促進会」は、前駐日代表の謝長廷総統府資政（顧問）の呼びかけにより設立されたもので、数十社の半導体関連企業が参加しています。陽明交通大も、学術界で唯一の代表として参加しました。
式典では、寒川主任もスピーチを行い、台湾の半導体産業と学術界において印象深い三つの特徴をあげました。第一に、人々は挑戦的な精神を持って技術革新に取り組んでいること、第二に、大学とサイエンスパークの連携は深いこと、第三に、台湾の半導体エコシステムは緊密かつ多層的に構築されていることです。台湾と日本がそれぞれの強みを生かし、連携をさらに強化すれば、半導体分野における研究開発とイノベーションをより一層推進できると述べました。
台日交流推進室では、今後も台湾と日本の半導体産学界の連携を深め、共創と共栄を目指して積極的に取り組む予定です。
