2026.06.08-09 Driving Taiwan-Japan Collaboration at Tohoku University: Toward a New Joint Laboratory for MEMS and Plasma

  On June 8th, accompanied by my postdocs, assistants, and students, I had the incredible privilege of visiting the Tohoku University Jun-ichi Nishizawa Memorial Semiconductor Research Center. It was a profound honor to reunite with Dr. Esashi, the esteemed “Father of MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems).” We were given an insightful tour of the center, during which we shared our latest research developments and discussed exciting possibilities for future collaborative projects. Catching up with Dr. Esashi after so long left me deeply moved and inspired, filling me with a renewed sense of energy and courage!

  A milestone meeting on June 9 with Director Sato at Tohoku University’s Institute of Fluid Science has forged a powerful research partnership in plasma technology. Crucial to semiconductor manufacturing, plasma is now revolutionizing the biomedical sector. To catalyze this synergy, both parties formally committed to driving forward a proactive collaboration and co-hosting a high-profile Japan-Taiwan plasma seminar.

2026.06.08-09 東北大学における日台連携の推進：MEMSとプラズマの新たな共同研究室に向けて

　6月8日、ポスドク、助手、学生たちと共に、東北大学 西澤潤一記念研究センターを訪問するという大変素晴らしい機会に恵まれました。「MEMS（メムス：Micro Electro Mechanical Systems）の父」として名高い江刺先生と再会できたことは、非常に光栄なことでした。センター内の有意義な見学ツアーのなかで、私たちの最新の研究成果を共有し、今後の共同プロジェクトに向けた心躍る可能性について話し合うことができました。久しぶりに江刺先生と近況を報告し合えたことで深く感動し、大きな刺激を受け、新たな活力と勇気が湧いてきました！

　続く6月9日には、東北大学 流体科学研究所の佐藤所長との画期的な面会を果たし、プラズマ技術における強力な研究パートナーシップを築くことができました。半導体製造において不可欠なプラズマ技術は、現在、バイオメディカル分野にも革命をもたらしています。この相乗効果をさらに促進するため、双方は積極的な協力を推進し、注目度の高い「日台プラズマセミナー」を共同開催することを正式に約束しました。
